SCOTTIE DOG BLOCK

                   

 

This Scottie Dog block is such fun to use in a quilt.   Half Squares and Quarter Squares are used in the block.  Any size will work but for this project we will use the 2 inch finished size.

 

INSTRUCTIONS -- Cut the following pieces:

One 4.5 by 6.5 inch rectangle

Three 2.5 by 2.5 inch squares

One 4.5 inch by 4.5 inchsquare

One 2.5 by 6.5 inch rectangle

Two 10.5 by 1.5 inch rectangle (length of fabric)

Two 10.5 by 1.5 inch rectangle (width of fabric)

Three 2.5 by 2.5 inch squares

Five 2 inch Half Squares, using Triangles on a Roll 2 inch finished size

One 2 inch Quarter Squares, using Triangles on a Roll 2 inch finished size.  This quarter square is made with one solid block and one half square.  This technique is explained more in the Quarter Square Pinwheel quilting lesson.
