QUARTER SQUARE PINWHEELS

Quarter Square Pinwheels are made from Triangles on a Roll Quarter Square gird paper.  The size paper determines the size of your blocks.  For this quilt we will use the  4 inch finished size.  Each block will be 8 inch by 8 inch finished size.

In the book,  It's Playtime, shows many great border ideas using this alternative way of using Triangles on a Roll Quarter Squares.

The diagram below shows a different way to use the Quarter Square paper.  Normally quarter squares are made by sewing two half squares together.  For this block you will be layering and sewing one half square made using the quarter square paper and one full square.

When cut apart a different type of quarter square results.  Two mirror image sets are made.  They are set alternately with skip blocks to make the quilt.  The skip blocks are cut 8.5 inch by 8.5 inch square.

Finish the quilt as usual.
