PRAIRIE POINT BORDER

This nine patch quilt with plain skip blocks looks wonderful when bordered with Prairie Points.

You can use Triangles on a Roll in a different manner to make prairie points.  Our pattern, Butterfly, uses the same technique to make Prairie Pockets, which is another wonderful border idea.  You can also use this technique to make pillow edging, replacing the ruffles.

INSTRUCTIONS:

Cut squares of Triangles on a Roll grid paper and sew along the diagonal lines as shown. Cut between the stitching of the diagonal lines.  DO NOT cut the vertical and horizontal lines (as normally done when using Triangles on a Roll).  You will make four point units that need to be turned right side out.

Arrange the Prairie Points, overlapping them, along the side of your quilt.  It is easy to adjust them to fit and makes a great edge to finish the quilt.
